Miki Agrawal is an entrepreneur who has built a successful group of companies without losing her creativity. She started out by founding Thinx, which manufactures and sells menstrual pads that are designed to be leak-proof, comfortable, and environmentally friendly. Miki Agrawal was also one of the founders of Tushy–a company that produces bidet attachments for toilets. Both ventures have done well; in fact they’ve both been featured on the list of Inc 5000 Fastest Growing Companies in America!
Miki Agrawal has also written a book called “Do Cool Sh*t: Quit Your Day Job, Start Your Own Business, and Live Happily Ever After.” The book is a guide to starting your own business, and it’s packed with helpful information and advice. Miki’s top tips for starting your own business are to “just do it”, focus on making one customer happy each day, and to build relationships with other entrepreneurs.

Recently Miki Agrawal sat down with the co-hosts of My Favorite Murder Podcast, Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark. The three ladies started out by talking about how they all got into their respective industries–entrepreneurship, comedy, and true crime. They then went on to discuss some of the challenges and rewards of being an entrepreneur.
Often, when I am thinking about campaign ideas for my business or art projects or new inventions, I say to myself “I am opening myself up to the creative portal of the present moment.” Just by declaring it, the creative portal magically opens an creative ideas emerge.

Miki talked about how starting her own businesses has allowed her to be creative and to make her own rules. She also discussed the importance of failure, and how it’s something that all entrepreneurs have to face at some point. Miki said that when you’re an entrepreneur, you have to be prepared for things to go wrong, and you have to be okay with that. You also need to be flexible, and once you realize how something isn’t working, you have to be willing to change it. If Miki hadn’t been flexible she never would have been able to get Thinx where it is today.
Miki shared some great advice in this podcast episode, including the importance of embracing failure. She also talked about how important it is to surround yourself with people who support your dreams and ambitions. Finally, she emphasized the importance of being kind to yourself when you’re working hard to pursue your goals.
